Benefits and claim limits shown online may not be accurate, as they are not updated online in real time. Applicable stand-down periods, other conditions or restrictions may also apply.

Benefits outlined in your UniMed policy document are the amounts available to you to claim for eligible healthcare services, based on your annual limits (the maximum amount you can claim in each claims year for an eligible service, or for healthcare services within a particular benefit category).

We collect, hold, use and disclose personal and health information submitted by you via the UniMed website and/or online services, in accordance with our Privacy Statement.

If you are a UniMed policy holder and you submit a Claim online:

  • We collect personal and health information and bank account details for each member named in the claim, for the purpose of assessing and administering the claim.
  • The recipient of this information is Union Medical Benefits Society Ltd.

Please note: if information we request from you isn’t provided, we may be unable to process your claim.


Access to your information

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal and health information we hold about you. If you think any information we hold about you is incorrect, you also have the right to request a correction of this information.

We will respond to any request for access to, or correction of information, in accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act 2020, and Health Information Privacy Code 2020.

Cyber Security

Reasonable care is taken by UniMed to provide secure use of our website and online services.  However, UniMed will not, under any circumstances, be held liable for loss, damage or liability caused by any breach of security.  This includes unauthorised access or use.   

You acknowledge that you are aware of, and agree to accept, any risks associated with accessing information/content via the Internet - including without limitation, the possibility that third parties may gain access to confidential information.

You agree to take all reasonable steps to ensure all information in relation to any security details (including usernames and passwords), are kept confidential to you. 


Do not keep written/electronic records of your security details or disclose them

UniMed will not be liable for any loss, damage or liability you incur as a result of someone else using this information (e.g., your username and/or password) - with or without your permission.

Whilst care has been taken to protect against the introduction of malicious malware (e.g., viruses), software, programs or code, UniMed does not guarantee the use of our website or online services is risk-free.  I.e. You are responsible for protecting your computer(s), network(s), mobile device(s) from being affected.

You are responsible for taking all reasonable care to ensure the information you supply to UniMed is accurate. Contact UniMed as soon as possible if you observe any incorrect or inaccurate information.
