UniMed now NZs third largest health insurer31 May 2024 Update
We are thrilled to announce the portfolio transfer of Accuro to UniMed is offcially complete, cementing UniMed’s position as New Zealand’s third largest health insurer with 140,000 Members.
What does this mean for Members?
The transfer has no impact on the service you receive or your current policy, cover, or benefits. For UniMed Members with Accuro Health Plans, UniMed is now the insurer listed on your policy documents, which are available on the Accuro website.
Do I need to do anything?
UniMed Members with UniMed Health Plans do not need to do anything. If you are a recently transferred UniMed Member with an Accuro Health Plan, and pay your premiums manually by invoice, you’ll need to update your payment details. See the FAQS page on the Accuro website for further information.
Who do I call about my claim?
Now the transfer is complete, it’s business as usual for UniMed and Accuro. If you hold a UniMed health plan you will continue to make claims and interact with UniMed in the same way you always have. Likewise UniMed Members with Accuro Health Plans will continue to work with the Accuro team, connecting with them in the same way to ask questions and make claims.
Is the transfer complete?
Yes the transfer was completed on Friday May 31st.
What happens to Accuro?
Accuro is now a brand, owned, operated and underwritten by UniMed. The Accuro Board will wind the Accuro Health Insurance Socity down in due course.
Is my cover affected by the transfer?
The transfer process has not affected your current health cover and you will continue to receive the same benefits.
Does this affect my premiums going forward?
The transfer has no impact on your premiums.
Will there be any change to my claims or how I claim in the future?
There is no change to how you make claims. UniMed Members with Accuro Health Plans will continue to make claims with Accuro and UniMed Members with UniMed plans will claim the same way they always have.
Will there be any changes to the service I receive as a UniMed Member?
There is no change to the service we provide our Members due to the transfer of Accuro. Our Members are our priority and care is what sets us aparft. These fundamentals will remain at the heart of the experience we provide.
Please note that the process of transferring Accuro members to UniMed will not affect your current health cover with UniMed and you will continue to receive the same cover and benefits.
