This page is for Members whose policy number starts with PL (originally issued under the Accuro brand) who are on the Major Medical and Real Value legacy Health Plans.

From 1 September 2026, we’re discontinuing the Low Claims Discount, which was available to eligible Members on Major Medical and Real Value legacy plans.

What this means for you

If you previously had the Low Claims Discount applied to your policy, it will no longer be applied. Importantly, your premium won’t increase because of the Low Claims Discount being discontinued.

However, you’ll still see premium changes at renewal due to our annual Health Plan and pricing review, and any age-related changes that apply to your policy. Any changes to your premium will be communicated to you at least 21 days in advance.

When will this happen?

The Low Claims Discount will not be reapplied to your policy at your next renewal on or after 1 September 2026.

Why we’re making this change

One of the challenges with a Low Claims Discount is that it can discourage people from claiming in situations where they do need treatment. It can also lead to premium variations when the discount is not applied at the next renewal following a claim. By removing the discount you can use your health insurance as intended, without worrying that making a claim could affect your premium.

What happens next?

You don’t need to do anything right now. These changes will take effect at your next policy renewal on or after 1 September 2026.

Remember, in your Member Portal you can view your current premium amount and your policy anniversary date (listed on your Membership Certificate).
