Why mental wellbeing matters

Looking after our mental wellbeing is just as important as our physical health – that's why UniMed provides mental wellbeing support to our Members.

How does it work?

Members on an eligible Health Plan are able to access up to $1,000 of reasonable charges towards consultations with a registered psychiatrist, psychologist, psychotherapist, or counsellor.

If you had the previous offer of 3 funded sessions, this will remain in place until the new Mental Health benefit is added to your Health Plan. You will be notified of this in your Summary of Health Plan Changes, which will be sent to you at the time of your group renewal.

If your policy number starts with PL, this benefit will be available for policy renewals on or after 1 September 2025, subject to individual qualifying criteria.

If your Health Plan includes a 50% or 80% reimbursement, as with the other benefits on your Health Plan the part reimbursement will apply to this Mental Health benefit. This means you'll be required to pay the difference directly to the provider.

Check your eligibility

Please refer to your Health Plan document in your Member Portal to confirm your eligibility. If you are unsure, please give us a call on 0800 600 666.
